Eminem started the new year right with an epic new album. Music To Be Murdered By is the album that makes a dozen for Slim Shady since 2018. Kamikaze was the last appearance Eminem made on the music scene. The album included the hit song ’Venom, an amazing track from the motion picture Marvel’s Venom. A dark twisted fun Marvel film about being a villain and embracing our dark sides. Eminem gave us many classics over the past few decades. He released his first single in 1996 ‘Infinite’ and then hit it big with the world in 1999 with epic grammy award winning album, The Slim Shady LP .

Eminem went into the millennium becoming a rap icon He also won three consecutive Grammys for other albums like The Eminem Show (2002) and Marshall Mathers LP (2000). The infamous song ‘My Name Is’ “Hi, my name is *dj rips the turntable* “slim shady” hip hop’s controversial, comedic fun and lyrical track. Young children discovering popular culture sang along to the hit song in the 1999 era. The media questioned Eminem’s bizarre and censored, explicit language but the fans couldn’t get enough of his skill. This was art expressed like no other than through hip hop. Eminem taught us that self expression was more than ok, it was part of pop culture. It did not matter what race Eminem was, he was a rap god. Usual rap fans may see Eminem as new generation’s lyrical genius, and some may feel that a ‘white artist’ could not take the crown in a predominantly black genre. White or black, Eminem deserved a crown for being one of the greatest artist of all time. In 2020 we definetely embrace all races in hip hop. Talent and skill doesn’t see color or race. Eminem teams up with an old collab friend, the raw, real and beautiful, Skylar Grey. She recently released a song “Angel with Tattoos” and have been heard on hooks for many musical stars. On ‘Leaving Heaven’ both artist get deep in your soul. Skylar Grey on the soulful hook while Em goes hard on the verse describing the pain he went through, and what made him into the rap icon that he is today. After fame, maybe Eminem’s parents tried to show how proud they were to see him become a star, but they did not have anything to do with his success. Eminem struggled from scraping money for something to eat to being the rap god .

Then an audio of a news clip mentioning another school shooting played. Did this song brings awareness to the mental illness epidemic in America and the gun control issues?
